Description
Photograph of the fire at the El Rey Hotel (519 J St) on February 21, 1941 viewed from the California Fruit Building to the west. Opened in 1933, the El Rey Hotel operated until 1965 when it was sold and converted into a movie theater. Today a medical center stands where the El Rey Hotel once stood. The Travelers Hotel is seen on the right. Taken in 1941 by John Marvich.
