Description
Photograph of a birdseye view of Sixth Street looking west from Main Street, Los Angeles, ca.1905. High rise buildings line the street to either side, while pedestrians, horse-drawn carriages and streetcars navigate below. A Southern Pacific depot is visible on the corner of the seven-story building in the left foreground, while a sign that advertises "559 Mattings, Linoleum and Rugs" stands to the side of a Romanesque building farther in to the right. A tree obscures part of the image in the lower right foreground. Other legible signs include: "Slevberg Bros." and "[...] Frederick's Co.". Additional information: Originally, the photograph was dated by 1910. However, since there's no the Santa Fe building on the north-east corner of 6th and Main, the photo is obviously 1903 or later as the Pacific Electric building can be seen on the south-east corner.
