Description
Shown on this circa 1907 postcard is the Sacramento Boat Club, as situated on the west banks of the Sacramento River at Broderick. The group attempted to move from the pictured site in April 1911 and away from the recently built Southern Pacific Railroad bridge and to the river's east bank. Although the railroad initially refused, it relented a month later, offering the club a five year lease of 200 feet, located between I and J Streets.
