"Eglise de Befandriana construite par M.Haaland en 1921-1922, en briques crues, abimée par les pluiesen 1925-26. Les deuz tours furent d'démolies. Une église en maconnerie la remplace actuellement" ("The church in Befandriana was built by M.Haaland in 1921-1922, using local bricks, destroyed by the rain 1925-26. The two church towers were destroyed. The church is now rebuilt using other bricks"). The new church roof which was made of corrugated iron was in some places torn off by the cyclone in 1979.
