William Sherman Ely, born July 14, 1868 died October 26, 1944. Cora Alice Freeman, born July, 1875 died Feb. 12, 1944. They were married November 1891. Their 3 girls were born in Iowa. Photo shows William seated on left, Cora seated on far right. Daughter: Wilma Gladys Ely (Sloan) born September 29, 1892 died July 4, 1962 and standing on the left. Ivy Mae Ely born June 15, 1894, died November 12, 1975 standing on right. Cecil Leone Ely (Pickler) May 29, 1898 died August 3, 1984. Note: The family moved to a farm near Katy, Texas when Ivy Mae Ely (Camper) was four years old- The family came to Chico, California in 1910 when Ivy was 16. She was very bashful but her mother insisted she go to school. A "certain young man" was attracted to this lovely girl and he followed her home the first day to see where she lived. Thus began a lovely romance for Charles Clarke Camper and Ivy Mae Ely Camper. Dorothy Camper Wall's grandparents William & Cora Alice.
