Description: View of the after-effects of the Red Rock Cold Creek Canyon forest fire in the Santa Monica Mountains. At one time this wash was so thickly wooded as to appear like a solid green wall before the hiker. The fire travelled through here so swiftly that some of the foliage was left on the charred trunks of the elfin trees. Photo dated: January 21, 1937.
