Photograph of the exterior view of the U. S. Hotel, built circa 1860s and demolished in March 1939, [s.d.]. Nearby retail stores include Shoe Store, the New Palace Cafe, and the New Wells Market. A sign on the building indicates Max Vogel is President, and that the hotel offers lunch buffet. Legible signs include: "U.S. Hotel and buffet lunch, Max Vogel Pres.", "Provident Loan Association, 706 South Hill Street, [...]", "Shoe Store, shoes for the entire family", [on a banner below the store sign] we quit, every pair must be sold", "New Palace Cafe, No. 3", "'dont be leg by' Mission Hosiery", "New Wells Market, wholesale, retail".
