"Gassere" ("Malagasy"). This picture is from the Missionary conference in Betafo 1910. These six missionaries all have missionary parents and were also born in Madagascar. From the left: Bertha Haaland, maiden name Nilsen. She was a missionary in Madagascar from 1908-1938. She married pastor Ragnvald Haaland 1887-1967, in Madagascar on July 3, 1918. He was a missionary in Madagascar from 1916-1923 and 1926-1938. Bertha's parents were pastor Josef Andreas Nilsen and Inger Marie. -- Next is:Anna Pauline Thunem, maiden name Pedersen. She married Adolf Reinhard Severin Thunem 1871-1954, in Fianarantsoa, Madagascar in October 1899. He was a missionary in Madagascar from 1897-1917. Her parents were pastor Peder Andreas and Christine Pedersen. -- Next: her brother Andreas Pedersen, a missionary in Madagascar from 1903-1920. He married Marie 1882-1906, maiden name Schielderup, in Madagascar in 1905. After her death he married Magdalene 1880-1959, maiden name Pedersen, in Norway in June 1914. His parents were pastor Peder Andreas and Christine Pedersen. -- Next: Anna Margrethe Bjertnes 1877-1957, maiden name Vig. She married Carl Fredrik Bjertnes 1868-1961, in Madagascar in November 1877. He was a missionary in Madagascar from 1893-1927. Anna Margrethe's parents were pastor Lars Larsen and Laura Margrethe Vig. -- Next: Anna Margrethe Ebbell 1876-1935, maiden name Dahle. She married Bendix Ebbell 1865-1941, in Madagascar in September 1894. He was a missionary in Madagascar from 1893-1912. Her parents were pastor Lars Nilsen and Gabrielle Gustava (Ella) Dahle. -- Next: Petra Alvilde Sofie Einrem 1875-1927, maiden name Nygaard. She married Johannes Einrem 1868-1956, in Madagascar in January 1894. He was a missionary in Madagascar from 1893-1933. Her parents were pastor Joergen Tollefsen and Hanna Nygaard.
