Architect James Conway designed the Mediterranean Revival style 1934 South Coast Theatre, located at 162 South Coast Highway, after the owner’s first theater the Lynn was flooded in 1930. This building was included in the Laguna Beach Historic Resources Inventory.
"The King and the chorus girl" starring Fernand Gravey and Joan Blondell is playing at the South Coast Theater, 162 South Coast Highway, Laguna Beach. Fernand's last name is misspelled as Gravet on the marquee. The Spanish-style theater has a landmark tower, verandas, and a tiled roof.
