Photograph was edited for publication purposes Jane Withers is best known for being one of the most popular child film stars of the 1930s and early 1940s, as well as for her portrayal of "Josephine the Plumber" in a series of TV commercials for Comet cleanser in the 1960s and early 1970s. Photograph caption dated March 4, 1959 reads, "Actress Jane Withers looks over group of 'Janey' dolls which she creates and makes, as young son Kenneth Errair plays with one. Jane, who is now considering turning doll-making operation over to toy firm, will use proceeds of 'Janey' sales for construction of youth center where youngsters will be taught woodworking, painting, dancing, homemaking."; See images #00113142 through #00113147 for all photos in this series.
