Photograph caption dated March 25, 1984 reads, "Doomsayers hold grisly placards as part of mass demonstration yesterday in downtown Los Angeles condemning Reagan-administration policy in Central America and today's U.S.-backed presidential elections in El Salvador. More than 2,000 protesters marched 10 blocks along Broadway from Olympic boulevard to Olvera Street's La Placita Plaza, where speakers addressed a cheering crowd."
