Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the ruins of Andrés Pico's home, near mission, San Fernando Valley, ca.1915. The dilapidated old adobe stands obscured by trees that are in the foreground. Its spackle has crumbled off, showing the bricks beneath. The wall has collapsed in the lower left corner, and all the doors appear to be either open or removed. The building was later rebuilt and occupied by Harrington. Yet later in 1958, it became the San Fernando Y.M.C.A. branch. Pico was a landowner, military commander in Mexican Los Angeles, and also the brother to Mexican Governor of California, Pío Pico.
