Photograph caption dated November 8, 1956 reads, "'Tom,' year-old foundling cat adopted by Mrs. Gertrude Shryne of 5228 Vineland Ave., North Hollywood, contentedly drinks from doll nursing bottle, as Richard Shryne holds him in lap. Like Peter Pan, cat refuses to grow up, nearly starved while family vacationed recently, leaving Tom with friends who tried to feed him from saucers."
