Caption in Kingdom Overseas" Miss Emilie Posnett and Miss Sarah Harris whose medical work in the villages, ministered to caste and outcaste alike and did much to start the great mass movement towards Christianity.". Two female missionaries with women patients outside medical tent. Both Miss Harris and Miss Posnett served as nurses from 1896 to 1939. The first Wesleyan Methodist mission to India was established in Madras [now Tamil Nadu] in 1817.
