Description
Photograph caption dated October 11, 1956 reads, "Georg [sic] Hoffman, 12, holds birthday cake upon arrival in San Fernando with mother, Mrs. Tatjana Hoffman from Riga, Latvia. Brought to this country at the expense of the government, the mother and son are greeted here by the Rev. Lawrence Warren, minister of the First Methodist Church which is assisting in sponsoring the new residents of the community."
