Description: Police are shown in the thick of conflict, subduing one of the most belligerent of the Reds, while a cloud of tear gas, at left, forces other agitators back. Police squads, including reserves, rushed to the scene, emerged victorious, but with scars of conflict, and jailed several rioters. Whenever police tried to silence shouting orators the Reds attacked anew. Photo dated: January 22, 1931.
