Authentic early Spanish and pioneer period costumes will be worn by Native Daughters of the Golden West at their 55th annual grand parlor convention at the Biltmore Hotel. The photo, on June 12, 1941, shows a tableau in rehearsal for the sessions. Left to right, Diane Beal in a dress brought around the Horn in 1818; Lorraine Forster in '49-er satin gown; Rosita Beal in white mantilla and shawl, dating from 1842; and Ramona Vejar in a copy of old Spanish taffeta. They are holding a California Republic flag.
