Since 1925, Goodyear blimps have adorned the skies as very visible corporate symbols of the world's largest tire and rubber company that began operations in 1898. On average, a Goodyear blimp is 192 feet in length, 50 feet wide, 59.5 feet in height, weighing approximately 12,840 pounds. It can travel up to 50 miles per hour and carry six passengers plus a pilot, with an operating altitude of between 1,000 to 3,000 feet to a maximum of 10,000 feet. Photo dated: December 14, 1937.
