Description
Photograph caption dated April 16, 1967 reads, "Residents of the area inspect wreckage of a single-motored Cessna 150 which crashed into a mountain near Highway 14 in Newhall Pass yesterday. The pilot, Richard L. Burke, 22, of Sylmar, a member of Los Angeles police force less than a year, was killed. His passenger, Gary Krystof, 18, of 12067 Foothill Blvd., Van Nuys, was reported in good condition. Burke had taken off from Van Nuys Airport at 6 a.m. A motorist spotted the wreckage."
