Photograph caption dated September 19, 1957 reads, "Kenneth Friedkin, president of Pacific Southwest Airlines, prepares to sign $8,000,000 contract with Burt C. Monesmith, vice president and general manager of Lockheed's California Division for three Electra transports. Planes will go in service at end of 1959. They will fly from San Diego to Burbank and then to San Francisco."
