As the Los Angeles correspondent for the New York Daily News, Muir is best known for her coverage of Hollywood celebrities and gangster crime stories. She was also a regular contributor to the Saturday Evening Post and Daily Variety. Muir joined the editorial staff of the Valley Times in October 1963. Her first Valley Times column, 'Florabel Muir Reporting' made it's debut on October 28, 1963. Photograph dated December 9, 1963.
