Description
Photographic portrait of General Andrés Pico, brother to former governor of Mexican Los Angeles, Pio Pico, San Fernando Valley, California, [s.d.]. General Pico is pictured here from the knees up, dressed in his finery. He sports a vest over which a watch fob can be seen, a light shirt and a bowtie. He also appears to be wearing a long-tailed jacket to complete the suit. The General holds his right hand proudly at the breast of his coat, while he rests his other on the table next to him. His face shows signs of age, but does not appear to be one of a man more than sixty years old. His hair is thinning, but wild at the sides close to his ears, where his sideburns continue down to meet his moustache, making a 'w' of hair across his face. A decorative frame encircles the Governor's photograph. His eyes are large and opened wide.
