This is a photograph of "some old land marks making way for modern progress. This stone column was erected in honor of a local scholar. It was in the way of a new street going in front of our house. I took this as it was falling down. In the background are rows of new shops along a new cement street in town. Not that clothespins have not yet reached here." There are clothes hanging out to dry in the forground.
