Kamalesh fik også her stor betydning for mange mennesker. Han døde under en rejse i Portugal, november 2009

Description
Kamalesh Biswas, b.1952 at Calcutta, India. MA from Calcutta University. Entered Denmark in 1977, as participant in a "Youth-with-a-Mission" course, followed by engagement in social/church related work, e.g. at the Christian Quo Vadis treatment center, and as secretary of YMCA. Kamalesh Biswas married to the Danish Lilly, and they had two sons, Dan and Mark. From 1989-95 the Biswas family was sent by DSM to Urban Mission at the slum areas of Calcutta. The project included e.g. pre-school for street children, a sewing school for women, youth ministry, and communication of the Christian message through film and drama. From 1995 the UELCI became responsible for the project. Kamalesh Biswas was ordained pastor of NELC, and was of great importance as advisor and motivator for the church. The following years this led to several travels for the Norwegian Santal Mission, as peace facilitator between the conflicting ethic tribes, Boros and Santals of North India. Back in Denmark, Kamalesh Biswas became a pioneer of the cross-cultural work, as parish assistant and pastor of immigrants. Also here Kamalesh became of great importance for many people. He died in November 2009, under a travel to Portugal.
