The picture shows two men, two women and two girls of mixed origin. The men wear suits, the women and girls light colored dresses. The younger men carries one of the girls on his arms. Behind the group stairs, a porch and a door. Next to the door is a sign saying: "Moranian Hope". Written on the card board: "9.2.34. P. Theile." Daniel Joorst (1873, Elim -1958, Elim) was a teacher and missionary in Mamre. From 1922 to 1929 he worked in Pella and from 19929 to 1943 in Moravian Hope. His son Rudolph Joorst worked as teacher and missionary in Moravian Hope from 1938 to 1947 and in Moutonsvallei from 1947 to 1954.
