Description
Joseph Kanon discusses his novel, “Alibi.” He begins by explaining his own travels to Venice and how he knew he wanted to write a story about the city. He talks about Venice’s role in the Holocaust and how he incorporated that into his book. Kanon describes why he wanted to write a murder mystery where the reader already knows who the killer is. He talks about the differences between an individual crime and a large social crime. He ends the interview by discussing how Venice is a secretive and hidden place, which makes a great setting for a murder novel.
