Ferdinand Ellerman, seated on the steps of a house with his family. Ellerman is in the foreground, looking at the little girl in his lap. Behind him on the porch are two women and a man, all of whom are seated. The doorway from the porch leading into the house can be seen behind the woman seated in the center.
