In 1973, Frank Robinson founded Robinson Helicopter Company, which employs about 1,200 employees. In addition to manufacturing helicopters, Robinson includes a research and development division, has an overhaul program to service older helicopters and offers educational courses for flight instructors and maintenance technicians.
An employee submerges a metal cage full of long, metal cylindrical objects into a large vat of solution or water at the Robinson Helicopter Company plant, located at the Torrance Airport.
