Description
View 1 (1990-1595). Waist-length portrait in dark suit, bow-tie, pince-nez glasses -- view 2 (2011-1264). Shows cemetery, several figures (men and women) sitting and standing among graves.
Born in London, came to United States in 1815. Arrived in California in 1852 where was lawyer and public speaker. Moved to Oregon in 1860 where was elected Senator to U.S. Congress. Served in Black Hawk, Mexican American and Civil Wars (where was killed). Buried in Lone Mountain Cemetery, San Francisco.
