Photograph caption dated November 30, 1980 reads, "There was an unusual protest march in Lancaster yesterday. Fifty women led by Los Angeles feminist attorney Gloria Allred marched on City Hall to demonstrate against the City Council's threat to close down a popular male exotic dance show. One of the reasons for their anger is that the council plans to continue allowing clubs featuring female mud wrestling and female belly dancing. The object of the all-male council's ire is the Sand Sailer, a nightspot that has featured scantily clad men dancing before female audiences the last five Tuesday nights. The council has called the popular show "pornographic" and "lewd." The council is expected to decide the show's fate tomorrow evening."
