V1p427a In PHOTO ALBUM-VAULT: ** fc917.9461 A3, Vol. I, page 427 top. This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco." Caption printed on photo: "94. Court of Palace Hotel S.F." Also printed in a semicircle on photo: "Court Palace Hotel S.F." Text written underneath: "Original Palm Court of the Palace Hotel Photo 1879. A famos [sic] meeting place of the early days known all over the World." Photo shows the seven-story balconied courtyard of the Palace Hotel. The carriage driveway in the center contains a huge potted palm tree; three men are standing at the right.
