3 cursive hands: 1, body of petition; 2, order from basilikos grammateus; 3, notice of receipt in top margin by Menches, komogrammateus of Kerkeosiris)
Margins: top, 2 cm.; left, 1.8 cm.; right, 1.4 cm.; bottom, 4 cm.
Smudges left of last line caused by folding of the papyrus when ink was still wet.
On verso: address (along the fibers)
Petition of Pnepheros, farmer of the taxes on beer and natron (salt), to the Basilikos Grammateus (royal secretary) asking to be put under his protection; the Basilikos Grammateus subscribed to the petition ordering Menches to see that justice should be shown to the applicant. The subscription is dated year 53 of Ptolemy VIII Euergetes II, Tybi 13 (Feb. 1, 117 B.C.). The docket of receipt of the forwarded petition by Menches is dated year 53, Tybi 15 (Feb. 3, 117)
