The biggest winner--"The American Eagle"--at Las Floristas Headdress Ball on April 25, 1953. It was worn by Mrs. John Behm and won the sweepstakes prize. The floral eagle, three feet high and six feet wide, was made of thousands of stock blooms and dyed carnation petals. It was designed by Sam Palmese of Burbank Florists.
