The Antelope Valley Fair and Alfalfa Festival is held annually at the Antelope Valley Fairgrounds, 2551 West Avenue H, in Lancaster, California. Photograph caption dated September 2, 1957 reads "Steve Brodie, honorary mayor of Lancaster, explains his culinary arts to Roberta Williams as he prepares to bake pie for entry in Peach Pie Derby at Antelope Valley Fair Sept. 5-8. Brodie is one of two men entering contest against 16 women. Leonard Cosgrove is other male cook."
