Description
Former White House seamstress Lillian Rogers Parks approaches the podium at the fourth annual African American Living Legends program, which honored black women in history. Other honorees included contralto Marian Anderson, civil rights activist Rosa Parks, education reformer Marnesba Tackett, singer Sarah Vaughan, <i>Los Angeles Sentinal</i> publisher Ruth Washington, and Los Angeles leader Vassie Wright. Also pictured is County Librarian Linda Crismond.
