Description
KNTV San Jose broadcast news footage for September 5, 1966; may be combination of the early and late news, includes national, local, sports and weather. Part 1: Feature on new Wells Dam on the Columbia River near Azwell, Washington for which Bechtel Corporation of San Francisco designed the hydro-combine [see September 6 script]; wildfire in Mount Hamilton Foothills (silent); high speed boat racing and water skiing in Santa Cruz on Labor Day. Part 2: President of Northwood Park Homeowners Association Paul Weiss charges that San Jose Mercury News is stirring up controversy over Swift meat packing plant because they are building their own headquarters nearby. Part 3: Opening preview of the Triton Museum of Art at 99 South 2nd Street, San Jose, with views of the paintings, including Man with a Hoe by Jean-Francois Millet (silent); interview with museum director Dr. Schnittermann.
