Description: Dennis Prarat, 8 1/2, with springer spaniel "Cord", were witnesses of the pet's futile attempt to rescue his young master, Richard Lane, 5, who along with James Trompetto, 6, were pulled out of a West Los Angeles reservoir. Sadly, both boys died upon arrival at the hospital 45 minutes after they were rescued. Photograph dated October 17, 1947.
