One man was killed and another was critically injured when an ABC Rubbish Co. trash truck drove around a railroad crossing gate and was struck by a Southern Pacific Railroad train going 40 m.p.h. The trash truck ended up hundreds of yards from Clybourn Avenue, the intersection at which it was struck. The tracks run along Vanowen in Burbank. Pictured is what remains of the cab and motor of the trash truck and the scattered debris from the truck. Photograph dated April 18, 1988.
