Photograph caption dated December 25, 1962 reads, "Reseda Girl Wins Soupy's Contest -- And for a prize Sheila MacDoran has her name on a big billboard near the intersection of Sherman Way and Reseda Blvd. in Reseda. She was judged the first winner in a contest conducted by the Soupy Sales television show in an effort to help combat the high school drop out problem. Besides the billboard, she also received a $25 savings bond. Details about the weekly contest, which asks for ideas on how to curb the drop out problem, can be seen on Soupy's show at 5:30 p.m. weekdays on KABC-TV, Channel 7. Sharon [Sheila] [sic], a student at Sequoia Junior High School, lives with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank MacDoran, in Reseda."
