Photograph of loggers posing by a Washington red cedar, ca.1900. The loggers are holding axes and saws and are standing at left and right wearing pants with suspenders. A third man can be seen in the background to the right of the large tree trunk down center. Divisional lines are carved into the log to prepare the shingles for extraction. Picture file card reads: "This log cuts 110,000 shingles".
