Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated January 17, 1957 reads, "Residents view maps during Valley hearings on proposed Foothill boulevard freeway to connect with Golden State Freeway. Meeting, attended by more than 500 persons, was held at San Fernando Community Building. State Highway Dept. engineers urged early adoption of freeway route and warned that delay will drive up cost of project.
