Photograph caption reads: "Aftermath of an explosion: One workman was critically injured and 20 others suffered from chlorine fumes when a 400 gallon tank exploded at the Bachelor Chemical Co., 12504 Washing Blvd., in Whittier yesterday morning. The workman --Nobert J. Soloman, 23-- is being treated at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital in Whittier after being thrown 30 feet through the air by the blast, which occurred about 7:20 a.m. Twenty other people complained of respiratory problems from chlorine fumes. All were treated and released. No fire resulted from the explosion, according to spokesman Dick Friend. The blast was apparently caused by excess pressure in a storage tank."
