Description
Photograph of the Sixteenth Street School marchers in Los Angeles' La Fiesta Parade, ca.1901. Four ranks of young schoolgirls dressed in lightly colored dresses, boots and uniformed caps march holding small American flags. A group of darkly uniformed boys can be seen behind them on the unpaved road, holding one of the two "Sixteenth Street School Co.C." banners that are being carried. The words "La Fiesta de Los Angeles" appears to have been edited out of the photo at the bottom right.
