Photograph article dated November 14, 1963 partially reads, "There's buried treasure in Mint Canyon. Dig it up and it looks like rocks. But try cleaning, cutting and polishing it. You'll have a treasure chest of sparkling jewelry, glimmering minerals and weird stones. The game is called rock hunting. And Mint Canyon is one of the best places to go rock hunting. "It's one of the finest collecting areas in the United States," says Ray Tucker, operator of a Sierra highway rock shop in the canyon." Fran Tucker's polished rocks resemble paintings.; See images #00116899 through #00116902 for all photos in this series.
