Photograph of a birdseye view of Broadway, looking south from Courthouse Hill, ca.1880. The street is occupied by at least one horse-drawn vehicle, is unpaved and is lined with trees, which are planted along the sidewalk. There are many buildings visible, most with peaked roofs that suggest that they are residential buildings, but at the center of the picture there is a square, flat-roofed two-story building with large windows and a prominent porch covered by a balcony. The base of a large hill is visible at the extreme right of the picture.
