St. Anne's Home for the Aged closed on September 7, 1976, and celebrated the groundbreaking of its new location at 2100 S. Western Avenue in San Pedro the following year. Once the new facility, known as the Jeanne Jugan Residence, was ready for occupancy, 120 elderly residents were relocated there on August 7, 1979. A section of a multi-panel mural located on Mott Street between E. 1st & 2nd streets in Boyle Heights; the surnames and first initials of the artists are present at the bottom of the work. The work surrounds St. Anne's Home for the Aged (top), a closed historic facility operated by the Little Sisters of the Poor, January 1977.
