Description
Members of the congregation stand in front of Centella Methodist Episcopal Church. Several of the younger members stand with bicycles. Automobiles and a horse and buggy are parked on the street." Centella Church was built at the corner of Reed and Second Streets in 1903. The church was named in honor of the deceased 8-year old daughter of Mrs. L.C. McColl, a major financial contributor to the church. A decrease in church membership eventually forced the congregation to merge with St. Paul's Methodist Episcopal Church downtown.
