Photograph caption dated July 13, 1965 reads "Capt. John W. Dolan of Canoga Park, right, receives the U.S. Air Force Air Medal from Col. Philip Brooks. A tactical adviser in Viet Nam, Capt. Dolan earned his medal for personal bravery in combat against the Viet Cong in Southeast Asia." Dolan was presented the award at the Bie^n Ho`a Air Base in Viet Nam.
