Description
Photograph of a man standing in front of a ramshackle saloon in Sawmill Flat, ca.1930. A man in a lightly-colored shirt and suspenders is pictured from behind, his hand on his left hip. At center, a shack made of scrap wood has the word "Saloon" painted on its front over the entrance. Sawmill Flat derived its name from the two sawmills that supplied lumber for Columbia and Sonora in the early 1850's.
