Messer, 30, center, commercial fisherman, 6836 Valjean St. Van Nuys, is arraigned in bed on five charges of manslaughter arising from Malibu Canyon road accident in which his wife Pamela and four ranch hands were killed. Judge Arthur C. Miller, justice of Malibu Judicial District, serves him papers while Court Clerk Dorothy Bush looks on. Preliminary hearing has been set for Oct. 1."
